Academic Interests:
Dr. Harrell is interested in inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, with a particular interest in treating chronic pouchitis. She has co-authored several chapters for medical textbooks on the topics of malabsorption, diarrhea, and the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. Her research interests include the identification of biomarkers that predict disease behavior and the relationship of bacteria and inflammatory bowel disease.

Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis).
